--------------------------------
The half-moon shades me;
It covers my shredded flesh.
I know not what I was meant to be.
But here I lie, reeking of death.

My cold pale casing,
Melting into the forest floor.
At least my eyes are facing
The great sky’s silver door.

What remains of me to find
is left for the small creatures
Who too need time to dine.
May they start with all my ugly features.

Start with the organs
That cursed my fragile mind.
Mark my resting with eyes of gorgons,
For those who look to find.
