---------------------------------------------------------
Upon my weary, sheltered mind
I keep a vase of things divine.
My memories of you tucked securely away
and rosemary to keep it safe.

Wrapped around it like a cord, but hollow now, it has no voice.

For you have marked my body, my soul.
To you, I bow. You’ve made me whole.
I could not forget you.
I surely would not try.

So, I’ll travel away, to the gardens of another life.

To find you again, who wouldn’t dare?
Petals of you dance in the air.
Juniper, laurel, but marigold too
Protection and glory, with grief on the side.

You’ve left my heart alone, with only memories that bid me to fight.
